aurora flytrap, by William F. DeVault

aurora flytrap

legs like coiled dreams, fed
kisses fired by dark imaginings,
dancing on the line between
the helpless, hapless mortals
she snaps up like some spiritual
amphibian, sleeping in the lily pads
and waiting for the right moment
to uncoil her tongue for those
who took the bait in those
elegant, elegiac thighs.
