Little Pilgrim Pantoum, by Rachel Elizabeth Dakin

Little Pilgrim Pantoum

Little pilgrim bowed down in worship
Dancing over white petals scattered on velvet
Glaring one eyed through black seas
Illuminating with her phosphate spotlight   Dancing over white petals scattered on velvet
Fragile as death in the womb of the night
Illuminating with her phosphate spotlight
A woman’ s face rising from a tomb   Fragile as death in the womb of the night
Skin of virgin snow and eggshells
A woman’ s face rising from a tomb
Stained with silent basaltic tears   Skin of virgin snow and eggshells
White noise smothers her ears
Stained with silent basaltic tears
Selenic Queen cradled in lunacy   White noise smothers her ears
Glaring one eyed through black seas
Selenic Queen cradled in lunacy
Little pilgrim bowed down in worship.
