Puppet, by Paul Verlaine

Puppet

Scaramouche and Pulcinella
Gesticulate wildly, black against the moon,
As the good doctor Bolognese admires his freshly mown lawn.   He cries out in distress
As his angel-faced daughter emerges, half-naked, from the hedge,
Stealthily seeking her beautiful Spanish pirate.
