Like an Anchored Weight, by Julie Rutherford

Like an Anchored Weight

Like an anchored weight
my mind, my heart, my soul
lies on the ocean floor
unable to breathe..
love, that has turned in on itself
becoming a tyrannical force
Freedom
white light
beckoning, on the horizon
always I have
searched for you
yearning, in vain
to be set free
from servitude,
the final,                                   letting go
