Prelude to a Finale, by Alan Maguire

Prelude to a Finale

You have swallowed many men and their sons,
their fishing boats now wrecked sunbathing upon rugged rocks.
You’ re depths explored only by magnificent mammals
and the likes of Captain Nemo.   Man may dream of capturing the stars,
but you will forever haunt his soul,
his dream.
